Bible Reading: The Book of 1 John (for Sasha)

I’m providing a link (below) to my podcast, an audio-only podcast called, Jan Notes. I haven’t kept up with it as I would like but I hope to do more. As the title suggest, these audio offerings are notes that I make and share with others, usually on scripture, but there are also some autobiographical sections.

I hope you find this particular reading a blessing.

This is a full audio-only reading of the book of 1st John, chapters 1 through 5. I am reading from the English Standard Version translation. At the end of the reading I offer a message on the thought that “he who has the Son has life and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life”. The reading is about 20 minutes including the introduction, about 38 minutes total with the message that followed. I closed with a prayer for myself and for you. I hope you find this a blessing.

Hi…Thanks for checking in. I live in rural Kentucky, moving from Louisville in 2016. I have a small degree in pastoral theology, studying and pastoring in the U.K., from 2000 to 2009, then in the U.S. until 2012. I am now a part-time driver for the local Amish community. I’m making an honest effort to write more, to write out some thoughts on the spiritual life, occasional comment on current events (I’m apolitical, so not much there), and with some emphasis on my life in recovery from addiction. And then there are those marriages and divorces, not for the sake of raking dirt, but for support for others and perhaps a little for myself. In living, like gardening, I tend to follow the seasons of life.
